My story

A beautiful bedroom shouldn't be hard

Hi, I'm Emily, an interior designer and mum based in Adelaide, and the Arlem Bedhead Cushion is something I dreamt up because nothing like it existed.

I kept noticing the same thing in every bedroom I worked on. The styled look always came down to cushions, lots of them, six or eight or sometimes ten, and while they looked beautiful in photos, the reality of actually living with them was a completely different story. Every morning you're arranging, fluffing, karate chopping, stacking them just right, and every night you're throwing them all on the floor again. And I know you know exactly what I'm talking about, because everyone wants that put-together bedroom, but nobody actually has the time to maintain one.

So I had this idea to make one cushion that completely changes the feeling of your bed. It sits behind your sleeping pillows and quietly makes your whole room look effortlessly styled, every single morning, without you even thinking about it.

I made the first few hundred by hand, and I poured everything into getting them right. Hundreds of iterations, perfecting the shape, the comfort, that feeling of sinking into something at the end of the day that's soft enough to melt into but supportive enough to lean back on and read for hours. I use one on my own bed every single night, and I think you'd love to sleep with one too.

What I love most about these is that they let you make your bedroom yours. Whether that's a bold, textured statement that catches your eye the moment you walk in, or something soft and understated that just makes everything feel calm and considered. Your bedroom tells people something about you, and an Arlem Bedhead Cushion lets you say it without trying too hard.

I believe your bedroom should feel as beautiful as it looks, and that you shouldn't need a stylist or a big budget to get there. Just something that's been obsessed over so you don't have to be.

I'm glad you found Arlem.
