French Ticking is a modern classic, made warmer. The charcoal pinstripe is precise and rhythmic, proper ticking with real structure. The soft muted yellow ruffle warms it at the edges without softening what it is.

The geometry is precise and the ruffle gives it warmth, the tension between the two is what makes it work.

Precise in the middle, soft at the edges.

How to style French Ticking

I styled French Ticking with the matching quilt cover and pillowcases, then kept everything graphic and intentional. Two black-framed line art prints above the bed echo the stripe's precision, a trailing green plant softens the contrast, and a single white taper candle finishes it simply.

Emily, founder of Arlem

Created by someone who uses one every day

I wanted my bedroom to feel styled and intentional, without the morning pillow ritual that felt like too much effort every single day.

So I created the Arlem Bedhead Cushion. As beautiful as it is comfortable, and so easy to style! The idea came to me on a holiday in Queensland, and the day I got home I taught myself to sew, pouring my love of fabrics into every cushion. The first few hundred were hand sewn on my kitchen table in Adelaide, where I obsessed over every detail, shaping them soft enough to sink into yet structured enough to lean back against.

Today I still design every Bedhead Cushion, and use one on my own bed every day.

Whether you have been here from the beginning or have only just arrived, I am so happy you found Arlem.
